Set NAVER Map to English before your first journey
Use the NAVER Map app, rather than the NAVER portal app. NAVER's current help page gives different language-setting paths for Android and iPhone. On Android, open the MY/profile icon beside the search field, select the settings gear, then Language and English. On iPhone, follow MY, settings and Language to the app's preferred-language setting in iOS; select English there. If that setting is missing, add English under iPhone Settings, General, Language & Region, then return to NAVER Map's language setting. The help page, checked on 8 September 2026, is the reference for these steps; this guide does not claim a test on every device or app version. NAVER language-setting help
Check the branch, not just the place name
Start with a destination you can verify against your booking. Compare its address and map pin before choosing a result: two branches of the same café or hotel are not interchangeable. If an English name is ambiguous, copy the Korean name or address supplied by the venue rather than guessing a translation. Keep that address with your booking confirmation so you can show it if you need help. An English interface should not be treated as a guarantee that every review or business description is translated.
Read the whole journey before leaving
Set the actual starting point and destination, then compare public transport and walking options. If you are planning from your hotel rather than your current position, enter the hotel explicitly. Read the walking sections as well as the vehicle time; check the boarding stop, direction, transfers and station exit. Before boarding, compare the route with the signs at the stop or station. Treat displayed times as estimates, and allow extra time for ticket purchases, luggage and unfamiliar transfers. NAVER acknowledges that transport data can differ from conditions on the ground. Share a precise meeting point
For a saved list, use its share control and check the visibility setting first: NAVER requires at least link-accessible visibility for sharing. Send your companion the venue branch and meeting entrance as well as the list link. Avoid putting private accommodation details into a fully public list. NAVER list-sharing help
Choose the day's stops before checking each live journey. Pglemaps can help organize that shortlist; NAVER Map supplies the journey detail. For the wider schedule, use our existing Korea itinerary and Seoul area guides. Neither a planning example nor a saved list guarantees current opening hours or reservations.
