Turn your Seoul pins into a usable day
This guide is a decision worksheet for a single sightseeing day, not a live map or a timetable. Start with your hotel, the place you must reach at a fixed time, and the last stop before returning. A booking should shape the route before optional attractions do.
Give every pin a job
Divide your shortlist into one essential visit, one meal or rest stop, and optional additions. Then look up the route between the exact entrances in a navigation app. A nearby-looking pin can still involve a long station interchange or a walk around a large site. Record the full door-to-door estimate, not only the train ride. If the same attraction has several entrances, choose the one that matches your ticket and route.
Work through a six-hour example
Suppose you have 10:00 to 16:00 available. One possible planning budget is 90 minutes for a main visit, 60 for lunch, 90 for a second visit, 60 in total for travel, and 60 of spare time. Those numbers add up to six hours. They are illustrative allowances, not measured travel times or recommended visit lengths for every attraction. If the journey estimates alone exceed your travel allowance, remove the optional visit or choose a closer alternative before leaving.
For a history-focused day, you might compare a palace visit followed by Insadong with a longer detour to a different part of the city. Verify admission conditions and opening days with the venue before choosing. For a shopping-focused day, compare two nearby shopping stops with an additional cross-city appointment. In both cases, the deciding question is what you would have to give up, not how many pins remain unchecked.
Decide what changes when the plan slips
Mark one optional stop that can be skipped without affecting a reservation. In wet weather, check whether the replacement actually offers indoor activities and whether you need a ticket. With luggage or limited mobility, review walking, stairs and transfer requirements rather than assuming the fastest option is the easiest. If a timed booking is at risk, contact the venue; a map estimate is not permission to arrive late.
Save a plan you can explain
Before saving your route, record the chosen venue branches, booking times and fallback stop. Recheck transport on the day through the route provider, and consult the venue's official notice for closures.
