Piglemaps Terms of Service
Article 1 (Purpose) These terms aim to define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of Piglemaps (hereinafter the "Company") and users in connection with the use of the Japan travel itinerary planning and AI route recommendation service (hereinafter the "Service").

Article 2 (Definition of Terms)

"Service" refers to all services provided by Piglemaps, such as travel information provision, itinerary management, and AI route guidance, which users can access regardless of the type of device (e.g., PC, mobile).

"User" refers to a person who accesses the "Service" and uses the services provided by the "Company" in accordance with these terms. This service is provided in a non-member format without a separate registration process.

Article 3 (Use of Service and Data Storage)

This service can be used without a separate registration or login.

[Data Storage Method]
1) Itinerary/basket/selection status generated during service use may be temporarily stored in server memory and browser cookies (session_id) to maintain the session.
2) When a user creates a share link, the itinerary data for sharing is stored in the server database (plan_shares) and is automatically deleted after the default expiration period (currently 10 days).
3) A result file (JSON) may be created on the server when the final itinerary is generated.

[Data Loss and Recovery]
If the user deletes browser cookies or changes devices/browsers, the existing session may be disconnected, and temporary server session data may be automatically cleared after a certain period. The Company does not guarantee the recovery of data lost due to the user's device setting changes or negligence.

[External API Transmission]
To provide the service, map/search/summary APIs (e.g., Mapbox, Google Places, Gemini, etc.) may be called, and in this process, information such as search terms, coordinates, and itinerary text may be transmitted to the respective API providers.

Article 4 (Content of Service and Accuracy of Information)

The Company provides the following services: ① Search for tourist spots, restaurants, and shopping information worldwide ② Travel itinerary (course) creation and editing tools ③ AI-based optimal route and transportation method recommendations ④ Other tasks determined by the Company

[Limitations of Information] All travel information (operating hours, closing days, fees, etc.) and map data provided by the service may differ from the actual situation due to the time of publication and local circumstances.

[Limitations of AI Recommendations] The travel routes and estimated times suggested by the AI are for reference purposes, based on statistical data and algorithms. Differences from actual travel may occur due to real-time traffic conditions, adverse weather, local events, etc., and the Company does not guarantee their completeness.

Article 5 (Attribution of Copyright and Restrictions on Use)

Copyright and other intellectual property rights for works created by the Company, as well as the service's design, text, database, and logic, belong to the Company.

Users may not use information obtained through the service for commercial purposes by means of reproduction, transmission, publication, distribution, broadcasting, or other methods, nor allow third parties to use it, without the prior consent of the Company. (e.g., data crawling, unauthorized reproduction prohibited)

Article 6 (Interruption of Service)

The Company may temporarily suspend the provision of the service in the event of maintenance, replacement, or failure of information and communication facilities such as computers, communication disruptions, or natural disasters.

The Company may modify or discontinue all or part of the services provided due to service reorganization or operational needs.

Article 7 (Disclaimer of Liability)

The Company is exempt from responsibility for providing the service if it is unable to do so due to natural disasters or other force majeure events.

The Company is not liable for any service usage disruptions or data loss caused by reasons attributable to the user (e.g., deleting browser data, changing devices).

[Disclaimer for Travel Responsibility] The Company is not liable for any travel-related issues (e.g., booking problems, schedule delays, financial losses) that arise from the user's reliance on information or AI-recommended routes provided by the service. The final decision and execution of the trip are the sole responsibility of the user.

Article 8 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

The laws of the Republic of Korea shall apply to the interpretation of these terms and any disputes between the Company and the user.

Any lawsuit arising from disputes related to the use of the service shall be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the court governing the location of the Company's headquarters.

Addendum These terms will be effective from February 05, 2026.
